Offered at the Modern PlaySpace in San Francisco, early intervention is an early start therapeutic service program for children 0-3 years old to support children with their developmental skills. These skills include language, gross/fine motor, cognitive, adaptive, and social-emotional skills.

Additionally, therapists will be supporting and educating the families of these children to help them have a better understanding of activities to do and practice with their children weekly to encourage developmental skills and growth. Our San Francisco therapists will provide home- based early intervention services with each family weekly.

Roles include but are not limited to:
• Work with a team of early intervention professionals in San Francisco to support the needs of the child
• Work together with families and the other professionals in evaluating children and planning intervention services that meet the developmental needs of each child
• Prepare progress reports for each child on a regular basis
• Coach parents in activities they can incorporate into their daily routines
• Participate in appropriate play-based activities with the child
• Discuss service options with the parents and/or caregivers of each child to determine next steps
• Create activities that promote the development of language, speech and social skills, and/or motor skills
• Continue monitoring and evaluation of the child to ensure the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) is effective
• Recommend the necessary resources for additional services and support transition to other programs after the child turns 3 years of age
